No matter how different we might look we can still have a conversation and get along with one another. The colors of the creatures emphasize the fact that animals are color blind therefore they get along just fine, unless they get hungry. Also, it is important to keep our beaches & oceans clean to help sea life stay healthy.

The world we live in is changing so rapidly before our eyes. Before long, it will not be recognizable. But just below our feet there are natural forces that have always been and will always be at play.

“My wish for you” was created in reaction to my family and I becoming new residents of IB. My three-year-old daughter, who loves all things — butterflies, ladybugs, dandelions, flowers, sticks, leaves and rocks — is such a motivation to me as an artist and mother and naturally drives so much of my artwork.

The AT&T wall is about non-verbal communication between all living things from the depth of our oceans to outer space. The title “…beyond words” comes from a book I was reading by Carl Safina when I first designed the mural. I wanted to collaborate with other artists on this wall to add depth and diversity to the imagery.

My mural is about love. Love for your community and others. It was originally based off of how my grandparents met, but it turned into so much more. I hope it provides some joy for all who take a peek!

The Eastern Pacific green sea turtles in San Diego rely on eelgrass as an important food source. Because the density and biomass of the South Bay’s eelgrass beds can vary widely from one season to another, it is extremely important that we help to facilitate a healthy ocean environment for them.

This mural shows destruction along with the biological growth of nature that follows. Layer by layer the State Farm building has been transformed into an artificial reef that’s surrounded by kelp and inhabited by our local marine life. This mural expresses the raw beauty of nature and the story of the world we leave behind.

The Baja Racing Mural was inspired by combining my love of landscape art and cars. The desert landscape was inspired by the natural beauty of Southern California at sunrise while the race cars bring excitement to the mural by almost jumping off the wall.

The mural speaks to the Leopard Shark populations of IB, and to the sea life in IB that’s susceptible to Tijuana River run off. We must figure out a better solution together with our neighbors in Mexico to end the devastating effects these polluted waters have caused our sea life, local ocean health, and everyone else involved.
